Earth Tech Picked to Bid on $200-Million Navy Cleanup: The Long Beach-based environmental engineering consultant said its selection to bid on the 10-year contract--covering work in Hawaii, Guam, Midway Island and other Pacific Rim areas--amounts to passing the major hurdle before the bid is awarded. The company has also been selected to negotiate a $16.7-million contract from Martin Marietta Energy Systems as part of an Energy Department hazardous-waste cleanup. Unlike many environmental services companies that have been hurt by the recent economic slowdown, Earth Tech has been following a strategy of aggressive growth.
