Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding a 69-year-old man with Alzheimer’s disease who has been missing since early Sunday morning, when he rode away from home on a red 10-speed bicycle.

Jakob (Jake) Harle, was described as a white male of Yugoslav background who stands 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds. He wears glasses and has hazel eyes and short, graying brown hair, said Brea Police Lt. Doug Dickerson.

“He was last seen in the area of Fairmont (Boulevard) and Yorba Linda Boulevard,” Dickerson said. “He rides his bike in the neighborhood sometimes, but he’s never disappeared like this. His family is very worried that he’s disoriented and maybe couldn’t find his way back.”

Harle was last seen wearing dark blue pants, a long-sleeved, blue-plaid flannel shirt, brown shoes and a gray cardigan sweater. He also may have a hearing aid, Dickerson said.

Anyone who sees Harle is asked to call local police. The Brea Police Department can be reached at (714) 990-7916.
