Scott Dinger of Simi Valley reclaimed the lead from Jeff Schrader with 10 laps remaining to win the Late Model 40-lap main event before 3,036 at Saugus Speedway on Saturday night.

Dinger led for the first 17 laps, only to lose his lead during a yellow flag.

Going into Turn 2 on Lap 30, Dinger bumped Schrader, of Santa Clarita, high into the bank and passed on the inside.

The checkered flag was Dinger’s first of the season, but it didn’t come easily. Arleta’s Brian Kelley rode his bumper the final nine laps to finish second.

Phipps, a Simi Valley resident who was bidding for career win No. 57, finished second, a car length behind Watkinson.

In the Mini Stock main event, Thousand Oaks’ Tony Dighera passed Chuck Jezulin on Lap 7 and held on for his first victory of the season. Jezulin finished second and Santa Barbara’s Jamie Pfeifer took third.
