McDonald’s to Cut Price of Big Mac During January: McDonald’s Corp. said it will slash the price of its flagship hamburger to 95 cents for the month, marking the sandwich’s lowest price since 1979. The promotion, which also lowers the price of Egg McMuffin sandwiches to 95 cents, will be the first of a series of McDonald’s promotions in 1995. “We intend to wow our customers with outstanding products and outstanding values,” said Dean Barrett, vice president of marketing for McDonald’s. The world’s largest fast-food chain said the other promotions it has planned for 1995, which will include new advertising, new menu items and other new values, are designed to cut into sales of its rivals, especially Burger King Corp.
