CAMARILLO : Funds Help Expand Libraries’ Hours
The Ventura County Library Services Agency has received more than $10,000 in donations that it will use to expand the operating hours of county libraries in Camarillo and Ventura.
The Library Services Agency on Tuesday accepted $3,000 from the Camarillo Newcomers Club and other community fund-raising groups.
The money will allow the Camarillo Library to open two additional hours each Wednesday between Jan. 4 and Aug. 30, said Dixie Adeniran, the county’s library director. During this time, the library will open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesdays.
The Library Services Agency also accepted $7,667 raised through public fund-raising events in Ventura.
The money will go toward adding two hours of service each Saturday at the E.P. Foster Library; two hours each Wednesday at the H.P. Wright Library, and one more hour each Monday at the Avenue Library between January and June, Adeniran said. All three libraries are in Ventura.
