Man Critically Hurt in Santa Ana Shooting
SANTA ANA — A street-corner altercation led to gunfire Friday night, leaving one man on life support, police said.
Three or four people were talking on the corner of Highland and Garnsey streets about 9 p.m., when a group of four or five other people walked up, according to Sgt. Dick Faust, of the Santa Ana Police Department. A number of shots were fired and both groups scattered, leaving one man on the sidewalk with a head wound.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was reported in critical condition, Faust said. The police gang unit is investigating the shooting.
