Burbank Man Hit by Train, Killed
A man died in an apparent suicide Friday after jumping in front of an Amtrak train in Burbank, police said.
Witnesses told police that the 48-year-old Burbank man had been standing on the side of the tracks near Front Street and the Magnolia Boulevard overpass about 2:30 p.m. when he jumped in front of a northbound passenger train, said Sgt. Chip Rombach of the Burbank Police Department.
The man died at the scene and his identification is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
