BURBANK : Woman Sought in Robbery at Motel
Police are searching for a 32-year-old Marina del Rey woman who lured an unwitting man to her Burbank motel room, where two male acquaintances waited to rob him.
The victim, a 22-year-old Hollywood man, was left naked and handcuffed on the floor after being robbed of $8,720 in belongings, including a $3,000 guitar, $2,430 in clothing, $2,000 worth of jewelry, a $500 gun and a $400 computerized organizer, Burbank police said Tuesday.
“The dollar loss is great, but the type of occurrence where a young woman invites a guy to her motel room and male companions are waiting to rip him off is not that unusual,” Police Sgt. Scott Wilson said.
The man told police he met Sally Ann Wiliamsen at a bar last week, exchanged phone numbers with her and finally got an invitation to spend the night with her at the Buena Vista Motel, 2255 Buena Vista St.
When he reached the motel room about 3 a.m. Monday, the man was surprised by two men with semi-automatic pistols--one waiting in the bathroom and the other sitting in a chair--police said.
The gunmen, apparently knowing their victim was armed, asked whether he was carrying any weapons, police said. He replied by turning over his own gun: a small caliber handgun kept in a shoulder holster.
He was ordered to take off his clothes and lie on the floor as the gunmen searched his backpack, police said.
Once they left, he telephoned for help.
