El Modena named Jeff Pearson its girls’ soccer coach. Pearson, a former player at Concordia University and Long Beach College, has coached the Mission Viejo girls’ team the last three seasons.

Heather Carll of La Mirada has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Concordia, David Carll, her father, said Friday.
Carll, a 6-foot-3 center, averaged 16.7 points and 13.8 rebounds last season and was named the player of the year in the Suburban League. She was also selected first-team All-Southeast area by The Times.

Rosters were announced for the 27th Orange County High School All-Star baseball game set for 7 p.m., June 7, at La Palma Park in Anaheim. The game is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Anaheim.
