Favored Cool Air Breezes to Victory in Turf Feature
Cool Air passed the field on the far outside under Chris Antley to win the $61,400 Great Lady M Handicap by 3 1/2 lengths Friday night at Hollywood Park.
The victory was the second in as many starts on the Hollywood Park turf course for the 4-year-old filly. Cool Air, the 6-5 favorite, paid $4.40, $3.20 and $2.20 in winning for the 10th time in 24 career starts.
The victory was worth $34,400 to owner Frank Stronach of Ontario, Canada, and increased Cool Air’s lifetime earnings to $300,403.
Badarma made a late run to finish second in the 5 1/2-furlong dash. Badarma, a 9-1 shot ridden by Gary Stevens, paid $5.20 and $2.60. Desert Stormer paid $2.80 to show.
