BELL GARDENS : 2 Gang-Related Shootings Injure 3
Three Bell Gardens boys were hospitalized and one arrest has been made in separate gang-related shootings on Priam Drive last week, police said.
In both incidents a shooter approached his victim on foot, asked which gang the victim claimed and then fired, said Sgt. Drew Sullivan of the Metro Gang Task Force. Officials would not reveal victims’ names because of their ages.
The first incident occurred about 6:50 p.m. Monday when a gunman walked up to a 16-year-old and shot him in the buttocks and right side with what police believe was a small revolver. The suspect fled to a waiting car, described as a white, older-model Oldsmobile, police said. No arrests have been made.
In the second incident, 14- and 17-year-old gang members were shot about 4 p.m. Tuesday by a youth claiming another gang, police said.
One arrest has been made in that case, but police would not release the suspect’s name. Two more arrests are expected.
The three victims were taken to County-USC Medical Center.
