GLENDALE : Tests Ordered for Boy Who Killed Friend
A 15-year-old boy who shot and killed a 9-year-old friend in a Glendale apartment last year has been ordered to undergo 90 days of psychological and psychiatric evaluation.
The order was given in Pasadena Juvenile Court on Tuesday, about a month after the teen-ager was found guilty of second-degree murder.
The teen-ager, whose identity is being withheld because of his age, is expected to return to court for sentencing Aug. 2, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Laura Foland-Priver.
The teen-ager and the victim, Sang Lee, lived in the same apartment complex in the 1200 block of Virginia Avenue.
The teen-ager told police that he invited Lee to his apartment to watch television Aug. 12.
Soon after they finished, the older boy went to a living room cabinet and pulled out his father’s .38-caliber revolver from a shoe box.
The teen-ager, who was then 14, loaded the gun with one bullet and pulled the trigger twice--hitting Lee in the chest.
