Two Oxnard police officers disguised as Amtrak employees apprehended a fugitive traveling by train from Oregon, police said Wednesday.

Eddie Rojo, 22, suspected of stealing a car and a gun in Oregon, stepped off the train in Oxnard on Tuesday night and asked two luggage attendants where to pick up his bags.

The attendants were actually Police Officers Martin Polo and Michael Radziewicz, who had received Rojo’s name and description from officials in Lincoln City, Ore. The officers arrested Rojo and confiscated a .22-caliber pistol from his pants pocket, according to police reports.
