Wands Appear: Fiber Touch International, a small, start-up company in Huntington Beach owned by Dita Shemke and Andrew Ghandehari, reports that it has struck deals to sell its light wands at shops in Disneyland and Universal Studios.
It took more than a year for the company to sell Disney buyers on the relatively inexpensive toys that use a proprietary technology that mimics the light-carrying ability of fiber optics. “Part of the problem is that we went through three buyers at Disneyland,” Shemke said. “The other problem was that (as a small company) we weren’t timely in responding to some of their requests.”
