Superiors May Face Discipline After On-Duty Party by Deputies
A spokesman for Los Angeles County Sheriff Sherman Block disclosed Thursday that after suspensions without pay for 25 deputies who acknowledged partying in a park while on duty, an investigation continues into the role of supervisors in the incident.
Lt. Jeff Springs said there could be disciplinary action against the supervisors, including sergeants and lieutenants, if it is determined that they bore any responsibility for what happened.
In accord with a state law that prohibits the department from identifying personnel who are disciplined, no names have been released of the Lennox station deputies who were punished, or of the supervisors who may face punishment.
