Two Auto Makers Announce Recalls: Nissan Motor Corp. USA and General Motors announced recalls affecting 39,800 vehicles in all. Nissan said that it is notifying owners of 33,000 vans from the 1987, 1988 and 1990 model years to have the vans’ cooling systems inspected because some parts, such as fan belts, could fail and the resulting heat buildup could cause engine fires. GM, meanwhile, said it is recalling 6,800 1994 Chevrolet Camaro Z28s and Pontiac Firebirds with 5.7-liter engines to check fuel lines installation.
