Executions Clear Books for Holiday in China

BEIJING — About 100 convicts have been executed across China in recent days as police try to clear court books before the Oct. 1 National Day holiday.
Regional newspapers received in Beijing reported that murderers, rapists, robbers and gang leaders have been executed, many of them following “mass sentencing rallies” at which thousands of onlookers cheered their death sentences.
