Police View Vendor’s Thong as Wrong
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A hot dog vendor who wore a white thong bathing suit on a busy downtown street was arrested as a traffic hazard after a series of accidents, including one in which a gawker rear-ended a police car.
“Everybody knows who she is,” said police spokeswoman Sonya Friedman. “They say, ‘Oh, is that the girl that looks like she’s naked from behind?’ ”
Police arrested Annette Baerman, 23, last week. Baerman, who posted $25 bond to get out of jail, denies acting provocatively. But she concedes that while she has sold her $2.50 hot dogs for the Buns & More company, three gawking drivers have caused fender-benders.
One man got a ticket for hitting a police car last month. Neither driver was injured.
Baerman blames the motorists, but added, “I’m going to wear shorts until this is all cleared up in court.”
