Dream Come True
Recently I took a trip across the United States using U.S. 40, which parallels old Route 66 in many places. I can remember as a child driving Route 66 with my parents and seeing the advertisement for the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook, Ariz.: “Why not sleep in a Wigwam tonight?” But no matter how much I whined or pleaded, we never stayed there. It closed sometime in the 1970s, but about three years ago, it was painted, cleaned up and reopened. It is not hard to find. Just take the business route though town and it is on the west side. Our rate was $30 plus tax for two people and worth every penny.
