Jose Villa Casas; Son of Revolutionary General Pancho Villa
Jose Trinidad Villa Casas, 78, the last surviving son of Mexico’s legendary, revolutionary general Francisco (Pancho) Villa. Villa Casas was found Wednesday on the floor of his office in Tlalnepantla, a Mexico City suburb. Villa Casas, a 50-year veteran of the Mexico State Judicial Police, was apparently suffering from cancer and shot himself in the head, police said. Pancho Villa joined the revolt against the dictatorship of Porfirio Diaz in 1910. Villa proved himself as an organizer, fighter and strategist in his native northern state of Chihuahua and formed a revolutionary army. In 1923 he was ambushed and assassinated by a rival in Parral, Chihuahua.
