High Life: A WEEKLY FORUM FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
The end of the school year brought a variety of honors to Foothill and Tustin High School students.
For her volunteer work at the AIDS Services Foundation in Costa Mesa, Bridget Black, a Tustin High sophomore, received the Gold Award, the highest honor bestowed by the Girl Scouts.
For his engineering ideas to improve airplane maneuverability, Foothill High junior Daniel Wang was awarded a Navy/Marine Corps Distinguished Achievement Award at the 38th annual Orange County Science and Engineering Fair at the Orange County Fairgrounds. He will advance to the Naval National Science Awards Program competition.
For his computer skills and self-motivation, Minh Trung Tran, a Tustin High senior, was one of six students out of 2,500 named an Outstanding Student by the Coastline Regional Occupational Program.
Cheryl Cotman, a Foothill senior, took third place statewide in the photography division of the California Federation of Women’s Club annual competition.
