CASITAS SPRINGS : Homes Lose Power After Car Hits Pole
More than 3,100 homes in the Casitas Springs area lost electricity for several hours Wednesday night after a car slammed into a power pole on California 33, the California Highway Patrol said.
CHP officials said the collision was a single-car crash with no injuries at the intersection of California 33 and Brock Lane. The CHP could provide no further details late Wednesday.
Southern California Edison area manager John Britton said more than 3,100 customers lost power at 7:28 p.m. when the vehicle struck a 16,000-volt distribution line.
“It happens,” Britton said, “not that often, but it does happen.”
Power to all but about 50 of the homes was restored before 10 p.m. and the remaining homes were expected to be restored by midnight, Britton said.
