World IN BRIEF : JAPAN : 19 Hurt as Airliner Lands, Catches Fire

A plane landed roughly, broke into three parts and caught fire at Hanamaki airport in northern Japan, but all 77 people aboard were evacuated, officials said. The Japan Air System DC-9 burst into flames soon after the 72 passengers and five crew members were clear. Nineteen people were injured slightly, an airline spokesman said. Strong winds were reported just before the plane landed, but it was not immediately clear whether they caused the accident.
