Man Wounded in Drive-By Shooting in Huntington Beach
HUNTINGTON BEACH — A man was wounded in the cheek in a drive-by shooting as he and a friend walked in a residential neighborhood early Sunday morning, police said.
Alexander Murgia Ramirez, 18, of Huntington Beach, and 17-year-old Pablo Aranda Calderon, 17, of Stanton, were on Jacquelyn Lane, north of Slater Avenue, when a pickup truck sped by and five shots were fired from it shortly after midnight, said Sgt. Steve Johnson.
One of the shots struck Ramirez in the right cheek, Johnson said.
Police said Ramirez told them there were about seven men in the truck. A passerby drove Ramirez to Huntington Beach Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
Police said they have no motives or suspects in the shooting and are investigating.
