Big Bass Remain in Spotlight
The battle of big bass continues between Lakes Casitas and Castaic, both in their spring spawning cycles.
Rick Miller of Ventura and John Shull of Oxnard each claimed 17-pound largemouths at Casitas--second in the state this year only to an 18-3 at Casitas earlier--with Shull also landing catches of 14 and 10 pounds.
At Silverwood Lake, Joe Gibbs of Garden Grove had a two-pound crappie on his line when an 11 1/4-pound largemouth bass took the crappie. He got both.
