TELEVISION - April 14, 1993
‘Wonder Years’ Canceled: “The Wonder Years” will take its last bow May 12 with the airing of the one-hour series finale at 8 p.m. The fate of the critically acclaimed Emmy-winning comedy series had been up in the air, with the final show filmed to suit either a season or series finale. Those connected with the show had hoped to continue it to take the central character, Kevin Arnold (Fred Savage), through high school graduation. The cancellation of the series, which began in 1988, comes in the wake of sexual harassment charges against Savage and Jason Hervey, who plays Kevin’s brother, from a former wardrobe assistant on the show.
