VENTURA : Victim of Shooting in Park Identified
A Ventura man found shot to death in Sherman Oaks has been identified as Michael Carbone, 39, an employee of Technicolor, Los Angeles police said Monday.
But police said they have little additional information concerning the shooting Friday night in Van Nuys-Sherman Oaks Park at Magnolia and Van Nuys boulevards.
“It’s a body in the park, who-done-it situation,” said Detective Steve Fisk.
Fisk said there was no evidence of a struggle, and robbery did not appear to be the motive. “We have no idea of what he was doing in the area that night,” Fisk said.
Police have determined that the weapon used in the shooting was a small-caliber handgun.
Carbone was found fully clothed and his car was parked about a block away. He was dead when he was found, Fisk said.
