TECHNOLOGY : Kingston Signs Pact for PC Component Servicing by IBM
Kingston Technology Corp. in Fountain Valley has signed an agreement with International Business Machines Corp. to have its add-on computer components serviced on-site by IBM technicians.
All Kingston products purchased after April 2 and installed in IBM computers will be covered under warranty for up to a year. Two months ago, Kingston signed an agreement with IBM in which it announced for the first time that it would provide upgrade products to IBM that will convert older personal computers into machines that can run more powerful software.
Kingston makes add-on computer enhancements such as memory modules designed to increase the installed memory in a computer. This year, Kingston hopes to boost its sales from $251 million to $350 million and increase its staff from 185 employees to more than 250.
The privately held company does not release its profit figures.
