Beschen Takes Third in ASP Qualifier

San Clemente’s Shane Beschen finished third at the Assn. of Surfing Professionals’ world qualifying contest Sunday at Margaret River, Australia.

Australia’s Gary Elkerton won the event, followed by Australia’s Mike Rommelse, Beschen and Australia’s Tom Carroll. Beschen earned $4,250 for the finish.

San Clemente’s Mike Parsons lost in the semifinals and San Clemente’s Dino Andino was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
