Palomar Maintains Advantage over Cypress
For the third time this season, Palomar defeated Cypress in the title game of a softball tournament.
On Sunday, Palomar beat the Chargers, 5-0, for the championship of the Bakersfield tournament. Cypress (18-6) has lost to Palomar four times in five meetings this season, including the title games of the Rancho Santiago and Cypress tournaments.
Cypress beat Sacramento City, 2-1, in the losers’ bracket final. Jennifer Johnson keyed the victory with three hits and a run batted in. Also contributing was Tina Fuata, who had an RBI double.
