Cyril Collard, 35, a writer who directed and acted in a highly acclaimed French film about AIDS, titled “Les Nuits Fauves” (The Savage Nights). His 1992 film has been nominated for seven Cesars, the French equivalent of the Academy Award. The production, something of a cult film in France, tells the story of a young bisexual man and the choices he must make concerning the woman he loves when he contracts HIV. Collard adapted the film from his 1989 semi-autobiographical book of the same title. His first novel was “Love Condemned” in 1987. On Friday in Versailles of AIDS.
