Banned in Panama: Panamanian authorities on Wednesday banned an Oscar-nominated American documentary about the 1989 U.S. invasion of Panama that resulted in the ousting of Gen. Manuel Noriega. An Interior Ministry censure board said the film “distorts the true history of Panama, makes unfounded accusations and is offensive to national dignity.” “Panama Deception” is one of five nominees for best documentary feature.
