Overpopulation
Why is it that other countries of the world are in pursuit of a two-child norm while the United States has no such program? Why is it other countries are busy educating their people on family planning and reproductive health while the United States with the highest incidence of teen-age pregnancy is in a constant battle on who shall tell what to whom?
Overpopulation is at the bottom of every woe this old world is staggering under. Overpopulation is the cause of overconsumption, pollution of water, pollution of the air, loss of rain forests, loss of arable land and increased crime. The goal is not to limit the number of children born into poor families but to limit population growth overall. I have heard it said “it’s OK to have a big family if you can afford it.” No it isn’t. The world can’t afford it.
