2,500 Homes Lose Power
More than 2,500 homes in the Newbury Park area lost power on Wednesday evening, but the cause had still not been determined two hours later.
Power was interrupted to 2,565 customers south of the Ventura Freeway and east of Borchard Road at 7:47 p.m., a spokeswoman for Southern California Edison said.
Utility crews restored power to about half the customers by 8:38 p.m., she said.
The cause of the outage was still under investigation at 9:30 p.m., with power still out in half the affected area, the spokeswoman said.
