Economic Growth of 2.5% Predicted: The economy will expand by 2.5% in 1993, compared to 1.8% growth expected in 1992, according to the Paris-based Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. The unemployment rate in Japan will inch upward from 2.2% in 1992 to 2.3% in 1993, according to the forecast. Japan’s current account surplus is expected to soar to $126.7 billion in 1993 from a projected $116.2 billion in 1992.
