‘Cop’ Controversy: The director of San Diego’s Jack Murphy Stadium has asked promoters of Wednesday’s concert featuring Guns N’ Roses and Metallica to drop controversial rapper Ice-T and his band Body Count from the bill, or instruct him not to perform his hotly debated song “Cop Killer.” Bill Wilson, a former Pasadena police commander, says it is “not an appropriate song” for a concert that will have 233 San Diego police officers on duty. Some officers reportedly have refused volunteer overtime duty at the concert if Body Count performs. Representatives of the promoters, Avalon Attractions and Bill Silva Presents, were unavailable for comment.
