Valley’s Bostic Accepts Football Scholarship From Oklahoma State
Nigel Bostic, a former Valley College football player, has accepted a scholarship to play at Oklahoma State this fall, Valley Coach Jim Fenwick said Wednesday.
Bostic, a bruising 6-foot-3, 240-pound runner from New York City, was Valley’s second-leading rusher last season with 436 yards in 60 carries, despite missing the finalthree games.
“Everything has worked out real well for him,” Fenwick said. “He finished up summer school here and he’s already (in Oklahoma). They’re real high on him.”
Bostic’s junior college career ended in November when he was taken by stretcher from the field at L. A. Southwest College.
He experienced shortness of breath and a quickened heartbeat after being tackled during the fourth quarter.
Taken away by paramedics, he was hospitalized for a week while undergoing a battery of tests.
However, the tests were negative and he was given clearance to resume playing football.
