The Region : Shuttle for the Disabled
County transportation officials have expanded a low-cost shuttle service for the severely disabled to now include most of the San Gabriel Valley.
Metro Access, a program instituted last September in the eastern half of the San Gabriel Valley, now serves 14 cities, from Bradbury and South El Monte to Pasadena and Alhambra.
Shuttles offer curb-to-curb service, 24 hours daily, within the San Gabriel Valley and also to downtown Los Angeles and western San Bernardino County. Fares are about $1.50 per ride for up to 15 miles. For longer distances, the fare is normally twice what would be charged on local bus lines.
