CHILD’S SURPRISE: The recession made it tough for the Orangewood Children’s Home to raise the $3.7 million needed for its expansion. But the Harry and Grace Steele Foundation of Newport Beach has come through with the last $500,000--the largest donation to the home for abused children in a decade. . . . “We were stunned,” says the Orangewood Foundation’s William G. Steiner. “But what a wonderful surprise.” The expansion increases Orangewood’s 166 beds to a much-needed 235.
