Balanced Budget Amendment
My wife and I are delighted that the House voted down the balanced budget amendment. President Bush hasn’t got the guts to make the cuts in the various programs necessary to achieve a balanced budget. He wants to hide behind a constitutional amendment and then claim he was forced to make cuts in programs such as Medicare and Social Security.
If President Bush wants a balanced budget, let him submit one! His failure to do so may aptly be described as “chickengate.”
