Antelope Valley Signs 4 Basketball Players
The Antelope Valley College women’s basketball team has signed four players from the Las Vegas area to letters of intent.
The Marauders signed Gina Piccolo of Bonanza High and three players from Valley High--Niani Dunn, Bernice Atkinson and Kee Kee Harrison.
The Western regional of the Senior Softball World Series qualifying tournament will begin today in Encino with 28 teams in five age groups vying for berths in the national tournament in Detroit in September. Games will be played at Hjelte Park and Balboa Park with first- and second-place teams from each division qualifying for the Senior Softball World Series starting Sept. 27.
Among the teams participating are the Burbank Bluebirds in the 55-and-over division and the Burbank-based California Bluebirds in the 60-and-over group.
