SAME FLAG, NEW TUNE: Today is Flag Day, and the American Civil Liberties Union is planning a celebration in Irvine’s Mason Park that some might consider a bit non-traditional. But local ACLU president Sterlyn Steele says casually, “A gathering of friends, food, music, a public speaker--that’s Flag Day, isn’t it?” Except the speaker is Superior Court Judge James P. Gray, who is campaigning to legalize but control the sale of drugs such as heroin and cocaine.
