VENTURA : 1 Held in Suspected Overdose Death
A 29-year-old Ventura man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the death of a 35-year-old Ventura man, police said Wednesday.
Kelly A. Fluet was in Room 106 at the Crystal Lodge Motor Hotel in Ventura on Sunday when police found the body of Collins Blair, 35, who is believed to have died because of a heroin overdose, police said.
Deputy Coroner Zee Isaac said Wednesday that she could not confirm the cause of Blair’s death.
After being interviewed by police, Fluet was taken early Wednesday to Ventura County Jail, where he is being held on $10,000 bail.
The investigation is continuing, police said.
Val Cain of Ventura, Blair’s half-brother, said Blair had no history of heroin use. “It’s crazy, because I know my brother has never done nothing like this. He was a good guy.”
