Ford Emission Problems: Ford Motor Co. said it is recalling about 212,000 1989-model Thunderbird and Cougar vehicles equipped with 3.8-liter engines for an emissions problem. The company said the fuel vapor hose on some of the cars may not be connected at the fuel tank vapor valve and may exceed evaporative emissions standards. Separately, Ford said it is recalling about 175 1992-model Town Car vehicles, built for sale as limousines in California, to replace the electronic engine controls processors. The vehicles were produced with incorrect processors and may exceed California exhaust emissions standards, Ford said.
