About 10,000 Tickets Have Been Sold to Women’s Final Four at Sports Arena
Ticket sales for the NCAA women’s Final Four this weekend at the Sports Arena are expected to surpass figures for the 1984 event--the only other time it was held in Los Angeles--even though there are no local teams involved.
As of Monday afternoon, about 10,000 tickets had been sold for the two-day event, and those figures did not include tickets available to the schools involved. Each is offered 500 and can request more.
UCLA played host to the Final Four in 1984. Only 5,365 watched USC defeat Tennessee for the national championship, 72-61. Combined attendance for the semifinals and final was 11,537.
Saturday’s semifinals, featuring games between Southwest Missouri State and Western Kentucky, and Virginia and Stanford, will begin at 9:30 a.m. Sunday’s final is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Tickets can be bought through the USC ticket office, (213) 740-2620, or at all Ticketmaster outlets. Reserved arena and loge seats for the two days are $36, and reserved upper-level seats are $30.
