SportsChannel has scheduled a news conference for today to announce a new multiyear agreement with the Clippers.
The deal will take effect immediately. It will include about half a dozen regular-season games and, provided the Clippers qualify, some playoff games.
The Clipper telecasts will be part of SportsChannel’s premium service under a new format that starts April 1. Viewers will have to pay for premium events such as Clippers, Dodgers, and Angels; others will be part of their basic cable service.
