2 Held in Slaying of Seal Beach Man, 66
Two Long Beach men have been arrested on suspicion of killing a Seal Beach Leisure World resident.
Javier G. Gonzales, 20, and Carlos V. Martinez, 37, were arrested Thursday night in Long Beach for the death of Thomas D. Turner, 66.
Turner was found dead Thursday afternoon by a neighbor who stopped by his apartment at 1660 Glenview St., police said.
Turner’s car, stolen from his apartment, was spotted by Long Beach police near 23rd Street and Locust Avenue, said Seal Beach Police Lt. David VanHolt.
One of the suspects arrested was inside the car, police said.
A coroner’s report said Turner died of asphyxiation.
Police said they had not determined a motive.
“They’re trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together,” said Sgt. Rick Ransdell.
