San Diego
Two men who were found shot on a sidewalk late Monday in the 200 block of Euclid Street and later died have been identified, the coroner’s office said Wednesday.
The dead were identified as Edwin Cortez, 19, and Carlos Vasquez, 23, officials said.
Both men lived in the 200 block of Santa Rosalia in Southeast San Diego, said medical examiner investigator Robert Engel.
Two San Diego police officers patrolling the neighborhood discovered the men at 8 p.m. Monday. Cortez was dead when the officers found him, and Vasquez died shortly afterward at Mercy Hospital, Engel said.
