Ready for the Hall?
Duane Eddy was recently asked in a television interview about his being nominated again for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Eddy replied that “the law of averages will catch up.”
The reason for his casual attitude? He and his band, the Rebels, earned their place in the hall of fame in 1958 when their album “Have Twangy Guitar, Will Travel” was released. Just ask anyone who was there.
Hilburn’s failure to recognize this shows that unlike other members of the hall’s nominating committee, he has too little reverence for rock’s early stars.
