Harassment Allegations Against Thomas
I commend The Times for its useful article (Oct. 10) detailing the number of women currently in high-level government jobs. The uproar over the all-male Senate Judiciary Committee’s dismissal of Hill’s accusations against Thomas may yet have some positive fallout, if American women see that the most effective way to prevent repetitions of this built-in sexism at the highest levels of government is to insist on electing more women to the Senate and House and to press for appointments of more women in the executive branch.
I have a fantasy of Anita Hill being elected to the Senate. What would that be like for the old boys network?
